Aloe vera (Aloe barbadensis) is an evergreen, perennial, succulent plant growing in tropical and semi-tropical regions. Since ancient times, it has been used primarily as a medicinal plant. Aloe vera is also popularly used in skincare products for its benefits against various skin conditions. Aloe vera used for Hydroaloe-APE is grown in Mexico and fully traceable. Hydroaloe-APE has many beneficial properties including anti-oxidant and skin brightening activities as well as wound healing properties. Hydroaloe-APE is a moisturizing agent by inducing expression of skin moisturizing-related genes such as hyaluronan synthase 2 (HAS2), aquaporin 3 (AQP3), filaggrin and caspase 14 (CASP14) as well as reducing transepidermalwater loss (TEWL) in in vivo test.
