The Art of NATURE, The Art of SCIENCE
Honeyberry (Lonicera caerulea), also known as blue honeysuckle, sweetberry honeysuckle, fly honeysuckle, and haskap berry, is a deciduous shrub native to cool temperate countries of the Northern hemisphere such as Canada, Russia, and Poland. It produces long, cylindrical fruit with dark blue skin and intense purple flesh. Honeyberry is a rich source of anthocyanins, especially cyanidin 3-glucoside, which is well-known for its anti-oxidant properties. Honeyberry fruits used for our product are grown in a family-owned farm in Canada and they are fully traceable. Honeyberry-ANB shows anti-oxidant activities when tested with DPPH, ABTS, and FRAP assays and by inhibiting the production of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS).
